Frank Azor

Chief Architect, AMD

AMD

Frank Azor is an Alienware co-founder who until July of 2019 was the Vice President and General Manager for the premium consumer brands and businesses of Dell including the XPS, Alienware and G-Series portfolios. XPS represents Dell’s most premium consumer focused brand while Alienware is known worldwide for setting the standard for premium gaming PCs and innovation, and G-series products provide high-performance gaming systems at an affordable price. Under his leadership, Dell’s XPS brand rose to the top in innovation, design and performance across the industry while becoming the most award-winning product-line in Dell history and Dell’s gaming business grew to be the largest in the industry by measure of revenue in 2018. Frank originally served Alienware as an engineer and later held executive roles in sales and marketing before creating the Alienware Product Group organization in 2003-after helping to pioneer the industry’s first high-performance gaming notebook, the Area-51m. Later that year, he was credited with the successful launch of Alienware’s first self-designed desktop case (Predator) which immediately made industry headlines and has defined the look of Alienware’s products ever since. Before Dell acquired Alienware in 2006, Frank held the positions of Senior Vice-President of Product Group and Marketing and Executive Vice-President managing the global executive leadership team and reporting directly to the President and CEO. Shortly after helping lead Alienware’s successful integration into Dell, Frank assumed the role of worldwide general manager for the Alienware business unit. Under Frank’s leadership, Alienware’s brand has become the worldwide leader in its industry and has earned hundreds of awards for its products including multiple best of CES product awards. As of 2020, Frank holds 16 patents granted under his name and has been named a milestone inventor by Dell. In the summer of 2019 it was announced that Frank would be departing Dell to join AMD as Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions and Marketing. At AMD, Frank is responsible for the design and definition of innovative platform technologies and solutions using AMD’s proprietary intellectual property. In 2020, Frank’s efforts helped lead the company to its successful introduction of the award-winning AMD SmartShift and highly acclaimed AMD Smart Access Memory technologies. Frank also oversees AMD’s Adrenalin software product management, software marketing and gaming marketing teams. At Computex 2021, Frank’s marketing teams introduced the world to the award-winning AMD Radeon 6000m series of mobile graphics solutions along with AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution technology and the AMD Advantage solutions design framework. For 50 years AMD has driven innovation in high-performance computing, graphics and visualization technologies ? the building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms and the datacenter. Hundreds of millions of consumers, leading Fortune 500 businesses and cutting-edge scientific research facilities around the world rely on AMD technology daily to improve how they live, work and play. AMD employees around the world are focused on building great products that push the boundaries of what is possible.
